Invitation to Join

Founded in 1988, NGA was created to strengthen guardianship and its related services through quality assurance, networking and education. Its members include:

Guardians, conservators and fiduciaries
Professionals, family members and volunteers
Both public and private practitioners
Judges and court staff
Attorneys
Social workers
Case managers and care managers
Bank trust officers
Financial planners
Doctors, nurses and other medical care personnel
Representative payees
Advocates
Those who provide services used in guardianship practice

They belong because NGA supports and educates guardians, promoting independence and dignity for the most vulnerable individuals. Through educational programs, the promotion of professional standards, materials and networking, NGA supports its members in providing appropriate alternatives to their clients.

Your membership in the National Guardianship Association is important!

The number of vulnerable people who need guardianship is increasing at an alarming rate. Now is the time for NGA, with you as a valued member, to advance the nationally recognized standard of excellence in guardianship and to inform the public about issues of good guardianship practice.

Membership is available to anyone interested in improving guardianship practice.

If you are a guardian of a family member or think you may become one, NGA encourages your membership with a reduced rate. Being a guardian is not like being a parent. Guardianship issues can be so vastly complex that you will sometimes need to discuss your choices or decisions with others who truly understand the situation you are in. The support network, alone, is an invaluable benefit.
